In 2006, on the day of his father’s demise, the 18-year-old Kohli was playing for Delhi against Karnataka in a Ranji Trophy game where he went on to score 90 runs. After seeing his determination Arun Jaitley visited his home and also motivated him to move forward.
It is more special
“It is more special. It is happening at the same time as the stadium being named after Arun Jaitley Ji,” Kohli was quoted as saying Deccan Chronicle. During the ceremony, the current DDCA President Rajat Sharma said, “We are happy to honour him for achieving certain milestones and unbeatable captaincy record and his outstanding contribution to world cricket”.
