The entire world is under a lockdown thanks to the ever-escalating situation concerning the World Health Organisation-recognized pandemic that is the Coronavirus. Everything- schools, colleges, airports, railway stations, gyms, sporting events, movies, offices- have been put under lockdown as the world continues to self-isolate in a bid to avert the further proliferation of the virus, which originated from the Wuhan city of China late last year.
In the wake of the escalating situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation last week where he asked his fellow countrymen to observe ‘Janta ka Curfew’ on Sunday, March 22. Modi had also asked Indians to thank the medical professionals and everyone who is working day and night against the pandemic.
The appeal received an overwhelming response from every corner of the country with people from all walks of life coming to their balconies at 5:00 PM to express their gratitude and solidarity with all those medical professionals around the world who are fighting tooth and nail against the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the situation around COVID-19 is steadily escalating and people are being advised to stay indoors and avoid any social gathering. The number of cases in India had risen to 396 till Sunday, as per the data released by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
With the situation escalating with every passing day, it is very unlikely that the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League will take place. The tournament, which was scheduled to start from March 29, was postponed up until April 15th.
