England Under-19s and Sri Lanka Under-19s will feature in the opening match of the U19 Tri-series in West Indies at the Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua. The three teams involving in the tournament will face off three times apiece before the grand finale. Both the teams have promising names in their squad but they have seen failures at this level thus far. England U19s couldn’t make it to the final of the Tri-Nation tournament played at home against India and Bangladesh this year. On the other hand, Sri Lanka U19s lost the ODI series against Bangladesh by 0-4 margin last month.
The opening match of this Tri-series could be under clouds from the afternoon with a slight possibility of showers.
The Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua has not hosted a Youth ODI thus far. However, going by the recent One-Day matches hosted by this venue across Men’s and Women’s cricket, we could expect a decent scoring match. The totals here vary between 210 and 280 with the targets below 250 being in the sight of the chasing teams.
