The 1st match of the Women’s Super Smash 2019-20 will be played between Canterbury Magicians and Central Hinds at the Lincoln No 3.
The match starts at 10:00 AM local time (9:00 PM GMT – Prev Day) (2:30 AM IST).
The Women’s Super Smash 2019-20 will kick start on Friday when Canterbury Magicians takes on the Central Hinds at the Lincoln No.3 ground. This will be the first of the three matches to be played in the day. In fact, the Canterbury Magicians will face Auckland Hearts during the evening match at the same venue. They are led Frankie Mackay who was the star in the previous season. She will be carrying the team’s chances yet again. The Central Hinds has named co-captains in the form of Hannah Rowe and Jess Watkin.
The opening match of the tournament is unlikely to be interrupted by the rain.
The Lincoln No.3 ground produced low scoring matches during the previous edition of the Women’s Super Smash. The venue hosted 4 matches during that tournament and the scores by the first batting teams varied between 106 and 125. It will be interesting to see whether the scores in this season remain the same. Going by the batting line-ups of both the teams we might not see anything over 130.
