Ravindra Jadeja is widely considered to be one of the best fielders in the world thanks to his quickness, extreme safe hands and deadly accuracy when it comes to hitting the stumps direct. The Saurashtra lad has made himself almost indispensable in the Indian team thanks to his fielding and has also improved his batting apart from being an economical bowler.

He showed his amazing agility and safe hands in the field when he plucked the ball out of nowhere to dismiss a dangerous-looking Neil Wagner in the ongoing second Test match between India and New Zealand at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. India had scored 242 runs batting first after losing the toss.

Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Co. decided to give the Kiwi batsmen a dose of their own medicine as some inspired performance from all the bowlers left New Zealand 177/8. Then Kyle Jamieson and Wagner got together and added 51 runs for the 9^th wicket. Things were getting desperate for Kohli and co when a short ball from Shami got Wagner hooking.

Jadeja swooped in like a hawk at the position, leapt in the air and caught the ball one-handed to take probably one of the best catches in history. Meanwhile, the Indian team finds themselves behind the eight-ball, as Kyle Jamieson’s five-wicket haul– his first in Test matches(only in his second match)– left the visitors reeling. Though they earned a seven-run lead with Shami picking four wickets and Bumrah taking three. But in the second innings of the match, Indian batting collapsed badly in front of the swing of Trent Boult, who picked three wickets for 12 runs.

Pujara made 24, while Shaw and Kohli made 14-runs each. It also ended a poor run of form with the bat for the Indian captain, who managed just 38 runs in four innings in the Test series. On the whole tour, he managed just one fifty in 9 innings and had the ignominy of losing the ODI series 3-0.
