Dinesh Karthik, the veteran Indian cricketer, isn’t in contention for a berth in the national team. With KL Rahul, Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant being considered for the wicketkeeper’s slot. Karthik’s return to Team India doesn’t seem a likely one, at least for the time being. A couple of months ago, he took part in the 2020 Indian Premier League, representing the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Under his leadership, KKR failed to make the playoffs for the second time in two years. Karthik’s own form wasn’t great either and midway through the 2020 edition, he gave KKR’s captaincy to England’s Eoin Morgan. In the meantime, the 35-year-old conducted a Question-and-answer session on Twitter.
He reckoned that it’s the best way to ‘kill some time in the quarantine period’. To start proceedings, Karthik took to Twitter and wrote, “Best way to kill some time in this quarantine, Q&A with Twitterati! Go! #AskDK,”
Keeping in mind his fandom, Karthik was showered with questions. One of the fans asked him about his opinion on Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. The supporter asked and wrote, “One Word about Hardik Pandya? #AskDK @DineshKarthik.”
But instead of giving only a solitary word to describe their friendship, Karthik called Hardik a ‘brother from another mother’. Karthik replied and wrote, “Why one word, I’ll give you a line Brother from another mother! @hardikpandya7.”

Karthik’s words of praises didn’t evade Pandya’s eyes. The latter said that the comments almost made him shed tears of happiness. Hardik replied to Karthik and wrote, “You will make me cry.”

You will make me cry 🤪😍❤️😘

Karthik last played for Team India in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup against New Zealand at the Old Trafford in Manchester. He made his international debut way back in 2004, but hasn’t been able to cement his place in the team. In 26 Tests, 94 ODIs and 32 T20Is, Karthik has scored 1025, 1752 and 399 runs respectively with one century and 16 half-centuries.
As far as Hardik is concerned, he is currently an integral part of India’s limited-overs teams. He recently played some match-winning hands in the ODI and T20I series against Australia. Hardik was also a part of the Mumbai Indians, who won the 2020 IPL.
