On Friday night at Kaseya Centre, the Miami Heat defeated the Portland Trail Blazers by 60 points margin as the final score was 142-82. The win was an important one for the Miami Heat as they lost to the Golden State Warriors last Tuesday. The NBA season is coming to an end with only 10 games remaining.

Miami shot well over 50% from the field and deep, with strong performances from Thomas Bryant 26 points, 12 rebounds and Terry Rozier 22 points. Bam Adebayo also had 21 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists, putting him one assist short of a triple-double.

Here are three takeaways from the Miami Heat's biggest win over the Portland Blazers:

3. The Miami Heat was completely crushed in the first half:

Following the game, the Miami Heat had to pull out of this game as the Portland Trail Blazers were not able to win 20 games this season so far. Miami has lost too many tight games to weaker opponents, including earlier this season against the Washington Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies.  It wasn't even close in the first half of Friday night's game, as Miami led 74-40 after 24 minutes, the season's highest-scoring first half. The Heat played to their defensive strengths and had great attacking success, shooting 62.2 per cent from the field and making 10 of 19 three-pointers.

2. Destruction begins in the second half from Miami Heat players:

The second half was much of the same for the Portland Trail Blazers, with the Heat leading by over 50 points in the third quarter. Head coach Chauncey Billups couldn't find anything in the Blazers to spark a run, and the game was lost before the fourth quarter.

1. Last approach:

With nine games remaining in the season, the Heat have no more excuses as they attempt to avoid the play-in tournament and secure a top-six seed in the Eastern Conference. They accomplished their goal against the Trail Blazers on Friday, but the same attitude will carry over to their next game.
