Dallas Mavericks level the series by 1-1 against Los Angeles Clippers

On Tuesday night Dallas Mavericks defeated Los Angeles Clippers by 96-93 to level the series by 1-1 in the Western Conference first round playoff series.

On Tuesday night Dallas Mavericks defeated Los Angeles Clippers by 96-93 to level the series by 1-1 in the Western Conference first round playoff series. For Dallas Mavericks Luka Doncic took the charge as he scored 32 points while for Kawhi Leonard scored 15 points and seven rebounds in 35 minutes of playing time. 

He did not play or have any contact for practices during that time due to discomfort in his surgically repaired right knee. Kyrie Irving scored 23 points for the Dallas Mavericks, who led for most of the game two days after trailing by 29 points and finally losing 109-97. P.J. Washington Jr. tallied 18 points. Meanwhile, James Harden and Paul George got 22 points each. Ivica Zubac scored 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Los Angeles Clippers, affected by bad shooting and behind for much of the game, began to recover in the third quarter. Trailing by seven, they outscored the Dallas Mavericks 19-10 down the stretch to lead 66-65 entering the fourth quarter. Doncic knotted the score 65-all before being summoned for a technical foul. Harden's free throw gave the team a small advantage.

Los Angeles Clippers were having lead in last quarter

Los Angeles Clippers maintained their advantage in the fourth quarter, going up 73-67. The Mavericks went on a 14-point run to establish an 81-73 lead. Washington scored a three-pointer in front of the Clippers' bench, and Doncic and Irving followed with their own during the spurt. 

Zubac's slam reduced the Clippers' deficit to 84-81 before Maxi Kleber and Doncic hit consecutive three-pointers. With 20 seconds remaining, the Clippers trailed 93-90 after Leonard scored. Irving was called for a foul, which the Mavericks protested and had overturned. Irving converted three of four free throws before George hit a three-pointer at the buzzer. Game 3 will be played on Friday in Dallas.
