On Thursday night, Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks scored 44 points which are his career high points. In the final second of overtime, Dejounte Murry's go-ahead jumper helped the Atlanta Hawks win over the Boston Celtics by a score of 123-122.

Dejounte Murray scored all 11 points in the period of extra time as the Atlanta Hawks got their second win over the Boston Celtics in just time of four days. With 6 seconds remaining in overtime, Jaylen Brown hit the go-ahead jumper, giving Boston a 122-121 lead. Murray replied with a jumper over Jrue Holiday.

During the first period, Boston led by eight points, 23-15. Following Murray's 3-pointer in the second half, Young received a technical foul from his spot on Atlanta's bench.

The Atlanta Hawks had won their fourth straight win to equal their longest winning streak of the season. De’ Andre Hunter scored 21 points and 13 rebounds and Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 24 points. While for Boston Jayson Tatum scored 31 points and 13 rebounds, Brown also got 18 points and Kristaps Porzingis scored 20 points.

Atlanta Hawks aims to make it into a play-in spot

Before the game Dejounte Murry's availability was questioned due to soreness in the lower back. On Monday night, the Atlanta Hawks fell behind the Boston Celtics by 30 points before returning for a 120-118 victory. Atlanta's largest comeback victory since the 1997-98 season.

Joe Mazzulla, coach of Boston Celtics was not worried about the Thursday night game as players would react to the surprising setback, which ended the Boston Celtics nine-game winning run.

“No, not really. They responded already the way they came out and practiced yesterday,” Mazzulla said.

Boston Celtics already has the best record in the NBA and sits on top spot of the Eastern Conference. While Atlanta Hawks are placed in 10th position aim to make it into the play-in spot of the tournament. Atlanta Hawks is likely to meet Boston Celtics again for the first round of playoffs.
