‘Great start for the Celtics!! Let's go!!’ – Fans react as Boston Celtics beat Cleveland Cavaliers

Boston Celtics dominated Game 1 of their second-round playoff series, winning 120-95. Jaylen Brown got the Cleveland Cavaliers started Tuesday night but Derrick White took them down. By the end of the game, the Boston Celtics possessed too much firepower for the Cavaliers squad. Boston Celtics got upper hand in Game 1 as they took a 1-0 lead in the semi-final.

Jaylen Brown ended with 32 points, while White had seven three-pointers and scored 25 points. Donovan Mitchell responded with 33 points, but it was insufficient for Cleveland, which was playing its fourth game without starting centre Jarrett Allen. The Celtics, led by Brown, went out to a 40-34 lead following a first quarter in which they did not commit a turnover. Brown scored 15 points in the first quarter as the Celtics lead by 20 points at halftime, 59-49.

White dominated the third quarter, scoring 14 points and converting on four three-pointers. His sixth three-pointer of the game increased Boston's lead to 87-72. Boston Celtics had a 92-77 advantage going into the fourth.

Brown ended with 32 points, six rebounds, and five assists, shooting 12 for 18 from the field and 4 for 6 from three. White had 25 points and five assists, shooting 9 of 16 from the field and 7 of 12 from long range. Jayson Tatum scored 18 points, shooting 7 of 19 from the field and missing all five three-point tries. 

Mitchell shot 4 of 11 from 3-point range and 12 of 25 from the field to get 33 points, six rebounds, and five assists. The only starter for Cleveland to shoot better than 50% on eight of twelve attempts from the field was Evan Mobley, who finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The second game of the series will be played on Saturday night in Boston.
