Jamal Murray guides Denver Nuggets to win over Los Angeles Lakers to take 2-0 lead in playoff series

On Monday night Jamal Murray's scoring helped Denver Nuggets to cut the gap by 20 points as they won the game over Los Angeles Lakers by 101-99. As the Denver Nuggets won this game they took a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference playoff series.

On Monday night Jamal Murray's shoot helped Denver Nuggets to cut the gap by 20 points as they won the game over Los Angeles Lakers by 101-99. As the Denver Nuggets won this game they took a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference playoff series. In the last 16 seconds of the game, LeBron James missed his long-range shot then Jamal Murray took his chance and scored the winning points to take a lead.

Michael Porter Jr. got the rebound with 13 seconds remaining, and the Nuggets did not call a timeout. Murray moved the ball to the right side, where Anthony Davis was guarding him, stepped back, and swished the shot just as the buzzer rang. Murray and Davis fell near the Nuggets' bench as the sellout crowd rattled the Ball Arena.

For Denver Nuggets Jamal Murray scored 20 points out of which 14 points came in the last quarter, Nikola Jokic scored 27 points and 10 assists, Michael Porter got 22 points and Aaron Gordon scored 14 points. For the Los Angeles Lakers, the charge was taken by Anthony Davis as he scored 32 points, LeBron James scored 26 points and D’Angelo Russell got 23 points.

Los Angeles Lakers had upper hand in the game

Los Angeles Lakers were leading by 59-44 before half time and it looked like Los Angeles Lakers were going to defeat the Denver Nuggets for the first time in the last 494 days. As the game went into the fourth quarter Los Angeles Lakers were 10 points ahead of the Denver Nuggets. Russell's most important basket was a layup that gave Los Angeles a 97-95 lead with a minute remaining. Murray was fouled by James and converted both free throws to tie the game again.

James responded with a layup when only 48 seconds remaining, but Jamal Murray answered with a step-back jumper at 30 seconds. Then, James missed from long range, Porter grabbed the rebound, and the Nuggets were on their way to one of the most memorable shots in team history. 

Game 3 of the series will played on Friday between both teams.
