Los Angeles Clippers looks to extent Tyronne Lue contract as head coach

On Friday Game 6 Los Angeles Clippers were eliminated from the first-round playoff series as Dallas Mavericks knocked them out. However, after begin eliminated Los Angeles Clippers want to continue with Tyronne Lue as their head coach.

On Friday, in game 6, the Los Angeles Clippers were eliminated from the first-round playoff series as the Dallas Mavericks registered a win over them. However, after being eliminated Los Angeles Clippers want to continue with Tyronne Lue as their head coach.  

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Clippers were now working on an offer on Tyronne Lue's contract extension which will keep him until the 2025-26 season. There are serval teams who are interested in signing Tyronne Lue during the offseason time. One of them are Los Angeles Lakers who fired their coach Darvin Ham on Friday after losing to the Denver Nuggets in a playoff. 

Tyronne Lue is in his fourth season of coaching with the Los Angeles Clippers. In 2019-20, the Los Angeles Clippers fired Doc Rivers and then Lue took his role. In the ongoing season, the Los Angeles Clippers have won 51 games and lost 31 games, while they finished in the No.4 position in the Western Conference.

According to ESPN, the Los Angeles Clippers making a comeback to win their playoff series against the Mavericks has no bearing on the decision to sign Lue to a longer contract. Kawhi Leonard has only played in two games of the series and has been ruled out of Game 6.

Tyronne Lue's achievement as coach

The veteran forward agreed to a contract extension in January and is now contracted for three more seasons. The Clippers' other great players, Paul George and James Harden, will be free agents at the end of the season, however. The franchise expects to re-sign both of them and remain a formidable playoff and title contender under Lue's leadership.

In the NBA so far Tyronne Lue has won 184 games and lost 134 games and with the Los Angeles Clippers, he gone into three playoff positions and the final from the Western Conference in 2021 but lost to Phoenix Suns in Game 6. Now he has been coaching for eight seasons and has a record of 312-217 he also won an NBA title with Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016. Tyronne Lue started his coaching career in 2011 with the Boston Celtics. He served as an assistant coach for the team.
