Mitchell Robinson injury may prove costly for New York Knicks going further in the playoff series vs Philadelphia 76ers

The NBA is currently in its playoff rounds and these are where the crunch moments of the games take place. The games started with the New York Knicks going up against the Philadelphia 76ers in the playoff series. In the first two games it was the Knicks who came out on top against the 76ers. The Knicks had shown in these first two games why they are one of the top teams in the Eastern conference so far. Even with world class centre Joel Embiid the Knicks managed to keep him quiet and get ahead in the series.

The third game however proved to be a game changer as the Philadelphia 76ers came back into the series with Joel Embiid leading the scoring charts in the game. This is where the series is alive and the Knicks would have to still win the next two games to give themselves a chance in the entire league. These are the moments of the league that are make or break for the teams going into the last 4 games of the series. It is safe to say that the game is still alive between the two teams.

Mitchell Robinson injury could cause problems

One of the key players for the Knicks in the first two games was Mitchell Robinson who was one of the players that was responsible for keeping Embiid quiet. Robinson played a proper defensive role in the games to make sure his team got ahead in the game and Embiid could not be a problem for them. However the third game saw Embiid play a much more aggressive game. In fact the 76ers star in some circumstances looked too aggressive. This also resulted in a controversial ankle grab of Robinson which saw him get injured and go off the field. 

This could be a major problem for the Knicks since they have lost one of key players in the third game. What made Robinson an important figure in the team was his partnership with Isaiah Hartstein who was also playing a major role for his side. With 4 games to go this has really put the New York Knicks in a lot of problems especially against a side which have been very competitive this season. It will be interesting to see what they will have planned to win the next two games of the series and make their place in the finals.
