Grayson Allen, a Phoenix Suns guard, injured the right ankle he received in the series opener, causing him to walk off in the third quarter of Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, casting doubt on his availability.

Allen was guarding Mike Conley on a drive to the lane when he went airborne in an attempt to stop the shot and fell awkwardly on his right knee. Allen needed assistance exiting the floor and entering the locker room. X-rays were negative, and Allen will be examined daily, according to coach Frank Vogel.

Allen departed the court area for the locker room with 9:17 left in the third quarter, leaving the Suns up one. They were with seven down with 3:03 remaining in the third. The sixth-seeded Suns are down 1-0 in their first-round Western Conference series.

With Game 3 scheduled for Friday, Allen stated afterwards that he was unsure how his ankle would respond after two days of rehabilitation but was grateful for the time. He stated the manner he injured his foot on Tuesday was comparable to what happened in Game 1.

"I just landed on someone's heel" - Grayson Allen after the match

"Just a little bit tougher since I was in the air and landing, but when I watched the replay, it looked like I just landed on someone's heel and rolled it pretty hard," Grayson Allen in an interview with ABC News.

The Suns had deemed Allen, who led the NBA in 3-point shooting % this season, doubtful. Before the game, coach Frank Vogel lauded Allen's tenacity and will to compete. Allen was 0 for 3 from the field in 25 minutes and scored four points in Game 1. He went 1 for 2 in 17 minutes and scored three points in Game 2.
