While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hasn't released the upcoming T20 World Cup squad for India, former cricketers and experts have picked up their squad. Previously, Irfan Pathan named his top-order for the World Cup, and now India's former opening batter, Virender Sehwag has named his playing XI.
Sehwag took to Twitter to show his followers the team he has picked up ahead of the T20 World Cup. None of the names mentioned in the team are shocking as the players have performed extremely well in the recent matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. However, Sehwag hasn't included the all-rounder Hardik Pandya which is a bit shocking for some fans.
His playing XI includes Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Rinku Singh/Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Sandeep Sharma. There are some bold choices which the former batter has made in terms of spinners leaving out Yuzvendra Chahal who is currently in the race of Purple Cap in the IPL 2024.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has always been a perfect stage for players to showcase their talent based on which they have been selected for the Indian team. This time, the same thing might happen for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Shivam Dube, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Dinesh Karthik are some of those players who have played some brilliant innings which might help them get on the plane to the West Indies and the USA. Even though everything depends upon the selection committee, these players have made some great commitments with their bats which might have definitely caught the attention of the selectors. From here on, it will be interesting to see if the selectors are going with the usual players or with some shocking names for the World Cup campaign.
