Mumbai Indians (MI) are finally finding their way back into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as they got a win after a series of losses. In the 55th match of the IPL 2024, MI defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets with the help of Suryakumar Yadav's century and Tilak Varma's 37 runs off 32 balls. The no.1 T20I player played a brilliant knock of 102 runs off 51 balls.

After winning the toss, MI didn't do the smartest thing by inviting the visitors to bat first, considering their history in this season. However, to everyone's surprise, the SRH batting line-up collapsed after Abhishek Sharma (11) and Travis Head (48) were dismissed. The bowling was commendable, as the hosts restricted the Orange Army to 173 runs. Pat Cummins's cameo of 35 runs in 17 balls helped the team cross the 170 mark. For MI, captain Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla claimed three wickets each.

In the 2nd inning, MI lost their top order within 30 runs, so the 170-run target seemed a bit far away from them. However, thanks to SKY and Tilak Varma, the men in blue chased down the target with two overs to spare. Both batters had a beautiful batting performance, and SRH's bowlers had no answers to their batting. Moreover, this loss made SRH's flaws quite evident, which might go against them in the upcoming matches.

'I like to bowl in the right areas...' - Skipper Hardik Pandya opens up about his bowling

Hardik can take a deep breath of relief after MI finally got a win. Moreover, he took three wickets today at an economy rate of 7.80, which seemed like a comeback. This is excellent news for the MI team, as the skipper is back in form, and the team is back into winning momentum.

"My bowling, I like to bowl in the right areas, I bowl according to the situation. Bowled in the right areas today and it worked. I was like Chawla had to bowl from the shorter side. He (Chawla) had to be accurate, the margin of errors have become smaller these days for the bowlers," said Hardik at the post-match presentation.
