Former Pakistan star bowler, Wasim Akram wants to see India's Rohit Sharma play for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Considering a change in MI's captaincy in this year's IPL 2024, Akram feels it will be better for the right-handed batter to leave the franchise and join KKR. Moreover, this year Rohit has also scored a century against their arch-rivals, Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

"I feel Rohit Sharma won’t be at Mumbai Indians next season. I would love to see Rohit opening for KKR. Imagine Gauti as mentor, Iyer as captain and Rohit playing as the opening batter. Kolkata will become a strong batting unit. Rohit bats well on any wicket as he is a great player. It will be good to see him at KKR," said Wasim Akram.

Rohit has a pretty good record against KKR as he loves to play at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. He has scored 1051 runs in 33 matches and has scored a century and 6 fifties since his debut. Moreover, he has scored 466 runs in 13 games at the Eden Gardens. This is a brilliant score against any team or in any particular ground and if by chance Rohit gets transferred to KKR, he will surely have a great time with the team.

Rohit Sharma's performance in IPL 2024

The 17th edition of the IPL 2024 hasn't been great for the former MI skipper Rohit Sharma as he has scored 330 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 152.78 and an average of 30. Moreover, he also scored a century against the CSK team where MI eventually lost the match. Apart from this, the 2024 season doesn't seem to be going well for the entire MI team as they are the first team to get disqualified from the playoffs race.

Under Hardik Pandya's captaincy, no player seems happy and hence all the fans and experts have bashed him for MI's loss this season. Currently, MI is in the 9th position and will be looking forward to bouncing back in the next season. Also, the management will have to look into the captaincy dispute as well.
