The veteran Indian pacer was a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad camp when the team made their debut in the tournament 11 years back in the year 2013. In this season, Ishant was subjected to brutal hitting from the CSK batters in the league match of the IPL 2013.

He conceded 66 runs in his quota of 4 overs with a very expensive economy rate of 16.50 without taking any wickets.

4. Reece Topley - 1/68 in 4 overs (RCB) vs SRH – IPL 2024

This spell in the game when SRH smashed the highest team total in the history of the Indian Premier League. Amidst the explosive onslaught from SRH batters, RCB’s Reece Topley ended up as the most expensive bowler in the entire match.

He conceded 69 runs in 4 overs without any wicket to his name, having an expensive economy rate of 17.25.

2. Basil Thampi – 0/70 in 4 overs (SRH) vs RCB – IPL 2018

RCB and SRH took on each other in the 51st match of the IPL 2018 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. RCB batted first and posted a big total of 218 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Former blistering batter AB de Villiers scored quick 69 runs off just 39 balls with 12 fours and a six.

SRH’s Basil Thampi went on to register the most expensive spell of that time in the IPL history; he conceded 70 runs in just 4 overs without any wicket on his credit, having a heavy economy rate of 17.50.

The veteran GT pacer Mohit Sharma has been one of the good performers for his side in the ongoing IPL 2024, but he didn’t have his day while taking the field against DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Sharma was highly targeted by the DC batters in the first innings as the hosts piled up a big total of 224 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Mohit Sharma conceded 73 runs without having any wickets on his name in the spell of 4 overs. With this spell, he has also registered his name as the bowler to bowl the most expensive spell ever in the entire history of the Indian Premier League since 2008.
