IPL 2024: 'Another one-sided rivalry' - Fans react as CSK beat SRH by a massive margin of 78 runs in 46th match

CSK registered the 5th win in their 9th match of the ongoing IPL 2024, with a massive win at home against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 46th match of the tournament.

CSK outplayed the in-form SRH in the 46th match of the ongoing IPL 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The defending champions were asked to bat first by SRH skipper Pat Cummins after he won the toss. Batting first, CSK posted a big total of 212 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Star opener and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad played a sensational knock of 98 runs off just 54 balls, with 10 fours and 3 sixes. He also stitched a crucial and decisive partnership of 107 runs with senior number 3 batter Daryl Mitchell who scored 52 runs off just 32 balls, with 7 fours and a six.

Later around the end of the CSK innings, the star in-form all-rounder Shivam Dube once again proved his worth with the bat and smashed 39 runs off just 20 balls, with one four and 4 sixes. On the back of these knocks, CSK managed to get a big total of 212 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the first innings.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, and Jaydev Unadkat scalped 1 wicket each for SRH in the first innings.

While chasing the target, the SRH batters failed to crack the ‘CSK bowling’ code in the second innings and they were bundled out at the score of just 134 runs in 18.5 overs. I was only the senior middle-order Aiden Markram who crossed the individual mark of 30+ runs; he scored 32 runs off 26 balls, with 4 fours.

Pacer Tushar Deshpande led the CSK bowling, scalping 4 wickets at the cost of 27 runs in his 3 overs. Besides him, Mustafizur Rahman and Matheesha Pathirana also scalped 2 wickets each, alongside one wicket each picked by Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur.

Eventually, CSK clinched the victory by 78 runs to move to the third spot in the points table of the ongoing IPL 2024.
