Lucknow Super Giants stunned the Chennai Super Kings fans as they romped home to a 6-wicket win in dramatic fashion. Marcus Stoinis scored 124 not out from 63 balls with 13 fours and six huge hits to help his side win the 39th Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash. 

Chennai Super Kings began well by dismissing the LSG openers before getting the wicket of Devdutt Padikkal. The game swung when Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran added 70 runs for the 4th wicket in just 33 balls. 

With this win, LSG have now climbed into the 4th spot ahead of the Chennai Super Kings with 10 points from 8 games. it is a huge blow for the CSK side who have been one of the toughest teams to beat at home. Despite the century by Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK bowlers let the game slip to their fingers.

The addition of Matt Henry has been tremendous for the Lucknow Super Giants. The Kiwi pacer was yet again economical with the ball in what turned out to be a high-scoring CSK innings. The 32-year-old struck in the very first over of the game getting rid of Ajinkya Rahane for 1 well caught behind the wicket by LSG skipper KL Rahul. 

4. Nicholas Pooran – 34 runs from 15 balls

At a time when his team was in deep trouble, it was Nicholas Pooran who came in to play a blinder. The left-handed batter hit 34 runs from 15 balls with 3 fours and two huge sixes that shook the CSK fans and the team into stunned silence.

IPL 2024 has been a memorable season for Shivam Dube as he has become one of the most feared batters. On Tuesday, the 30-year-old was yet again in his elements as he unleashed brutality with the bat. Shivam Dube hit 7 huge sixes and didn’t spare any of the LSG bowlers as he scored an imposing 66 runs from 27 balls.

The Chennai Super Kings skipper came out to open once again and showed why he is one of the best openers in the IPL. The 27-year-old took the bull by its horns and got to his half-century off just 28 balls. Ruturaj Gaikwad didn’t let the intensity die down as he scored his next fifty runs from a further 28 balls to get to his 2nd IPL century.

The Australian batter was showing why he is one of the best strikers of the ball in the T20 format. Marcus Stoinis scored his first century in the IPL when the chips were down and helped Lucknow Super Giants come back into the game.
