The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season produced yet another high-scoring game as the Lucknow Super Giants beat the Chennai Super Kings. The margin of win was six wickets with three balls left to play as the visitors are now into the top four spots in the table overhauling CSK.

Marcus Stoinis stole the show with the bat as he hit 124 not out to single-handed steer the ship for the visitors. Once the winning run was hit the entire Chepauk stadium was silent as the LSG team celebrated wildly.

Here are the top 5 worst performances from the match:

5. Quinton De Kock- 0 runs from three balls

Much was expected out of Quinton De Kock after his blistering knock in the last game against the same opponents. The South African star though went for an expansive shot only to get an inside edge off Deepak Chahar to be bowled for a duck. It was an early setback for the visitors who were chasing a huge score against the defending IPL champions.

4. Ajinkya Rahane – 1 run from three balls

The last few matches have been tough for veteran batter Ajinkya Rahane. The 35-year-old has seen his form take a huge downward plunge despite being sent back to open the batting. On Tuesday the right-handed batter was snuffed out by Matt Henry for just one run thanks to an outstanding grab by wicketkeeper KL Rahul

3. Mohsin Khan – 1/50 from four overs

Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mohsin Khan had a day to forget with the ball. The pacer was taken to the cleaners by Shivam Dube and Ruturaj Gaikwad. The left-arm seamer was thrown off his groove as he smashed for 50 runs from four overs only the wicket of Ravindra Jadeja to show for.

2. Yash Thakur – 1/49 from four

Ever since he picked up his maiden fifer in IPL cricket, young Yash Thakur has been going through a bad patch of form. Everything he tried to do against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday turned out to be futile. With 49 runs from 4 overs, the young pacer endured a poor outing on the field of play.

1. Shardul Thakur – 0/42 from 3 overs

The return to Chennai Super Kings has been tough for 32-year-old Shardul Thakur. The all-rounder came into the XI as an impact player but saw his bowling being smashed to all parts of the stadium to continue his woefulness with the ball. It was a woeful night for Shardul Thakur as CSK also went on to lose the game.
