CSK completely dominated the in-form SRH in the 46th match of the ongoing IPL 2024; the holders defeated Pat Cummins' men by a big margin of 78 runs to move to the third spot in the points table of the tournament. There were a lot of star performers in the match.

The young CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad missed a well-deserved century but he had left his impact before T Natarajan dismissed him. Gaikwad smashed 98 runs off just 54 balls, with 10 fours and 3 sixes. He also stitched a brilliant partnership of 107 runs for the second wicket with the number 3 batter Daryl Mitchell.

This partnership and Gaikwad’s blistering 98-run knock helped CSK to post a big total of 212 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. 

Daryl Mitchell – 52 runs off 32 balls

The star number 3 batter for CSK, Daryl Mitchell came back to his batting form after a long time; he played a crucial ‘half-century’ knock of 52 runs off just 32 balls, with 7 fours and a six on his credit. His partnership of 107 runs with skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad played a crucial role in stabilizing CSK’s innings after an early loss of Ajinkya Rahane at the team’s score of 19 runs in the third over.

Mitchell was dismissed by veteran SRH batter Jaydev Unadkat when CSK had scored 126 runs in 13.3 overs.

Shivam Dube – 39 runs off just 20 balls

The star in-form CSK all-rounder Shivam Dube once again proved his mettle with the bat. The 30-year-old came to bat at number 4 for CSK after the dismissal of Daryl Mitchell at 126 runs in the 14th over. Dube smashed 39 runs off just 20 balls, with one four and 4 sixes.

Dube also stitched a blistering partnership of 74 runs off just 35 balls with the skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad for the fourth wicket before the latter was dismissed at the individual score of 98 runs, felling only 2 runs short of his second consecutive century in the ongoing IPL 2024.

Tushar Deshpande – 4/27 in 3 overs

One of the standout performers who shone with the ball was Tushar Deshpande of CSK; he scalped 4 wickets at the cost of just 27 runs in his 3 overs. Tushar’s performance came when the defending champions were defending their total of 212 runs.

Deshpande gave a big blow to SRH as he scalped their big and crucial top 3 wickets of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Anmolpreet Singh followed by dismissing skipper Pat Cummins in the end.

Matheesha Pathirana – 2/17 in 2 overs

The star CSK pacer also played a crucial role in bundling up Hyderabad with his brilliant bowling performance. He also stunned the star SRH batter Aiden Markram by destroying stumps with the peach of a delivery.

Pathirana scalped 2 wickets at the cost of 17 runs in his 2 overs, bagging the crucial and big wickets of Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen. He played a vital role in dismantling the batting attack of SRH in the second innings of the match.
