Delhi Capitals (DC) decided to flex their muscles in their home ground on Wednesday against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 40th Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash. Rishabh Pant led the carnage with his unbeaten 88 runs from 43 balls with Axar Patel scoring 66 runs. The pair added 113 runs for the 4th wicket after the home team were reduced to 44/3 at one stage.
Sai Sudharsan and David Miller scored half-centuries but in the end, GT still lost the game by 4 runs. Rashid Khan tried his best with the bat and took the game close but it didn’t matter as the Delhi bowlers namely Mukesh Kumar kept his nerves and won the game in the last ball.

After getting hit for 21 runs in his only over against Punjab Kings, Sandeep Warrier made amends with the ball. The 33-year-old pacer first got the big wicket of Jake Fraser-McGurk for 23 runs off 14 balls. In the same over Warrier got the wicket of Prithvi Shaw for the second time this season for 11 as both the catches were taken by Noor Ahmad. The third wicket for Sandeep Warrier came when Shai Hope mistimed a shot only to be caught by Rashid Khan for five runs.
4. Axar Patel – 66 runs from 43 balls
Delhi Capitals decided to send Axar Patel higher up the batting order and the left-handed batter made full use of the chance. Axar Patel batted well against both the spinners and the pacer and scored his second-ever fifty in the IPL. Noor Ahmed got his wicket when he holed out to R Sai Kishore for a career-best 66 which had five boundaries and four sixes.
3. David Miller – 55 runs from 23 balls
Delhi Capitals had to face the brunt of David Miller’s onslaught once the second time-out was done. The South African batter Anrich Nortje for 24 runs to bring the Titans back into the game. Till David Miller was batting, the Gujarat Titans were in within a shout to chase down the 225 runs to win.
2. Sai Sudharsan – 65 runs from 39 balls
Apart from Shubman Gill if there has been a consistent batter for GT this year it has been Sai Sudharsan. The left-handed batter from Tamil Nadu scored his first fifty of the season before being dismissed for 65 runs from 39 balls, with 7 fours and 2 sixes in his classy knock.

The Delhi Capitals skipper turned back the clock to pull out his vintage self to destroy the Gujarat Titans' bowling. Rishabh Pant was playing with ease as he hit bowlers to all parts of the ground.
