Delhi Capitals jumped to sixth in the table after they soundly thrashed the Gujarat Titans on Wednesday by six wickets in the 32nd Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match. The visitors won the game with 67 balls to spare to record a huge and important win as the IPL 2024 slowly heads to the halfway mark.

Shubman Gill and his side were outplayed with the bat, ball and also in the field. With this huge loss now the Titans are 7th in the table with 6 points from 7 games. Their run rate is also the second worst just behind Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Despite the nature of the game, there were few outstanding efforts with the bat and ball. For the first time this season, Delhi Capitals were able to show their ruthless side on the field and execute their plans well.

Here are the best five performances from match number 32 between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals:

5. Tristan Stubbs – 2/11 from 1 over

If not with the bat, the South African star has shown his versatile nature with the ball. Tristan Stubbs picked two key wickets to help Delhi Capitals stamp their authority over Gujarat Titans.

Twice in two deliveries, the combination of Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs combined well. Abhinav Manohar was out stumped as Pant was fast with his hands just like MS Dhoni to get the 5th wicket. Shah Rukh Khan was out next ball when Pant collected the ball down the leg side to effect a clever stumping.

4. Ishant Sharma – 2/8 from three overs

Veteran pacer Ishant Sharma has been turning back the clock with some amazing performances with the ball this season. The 35-year-old played a vital role in Delhi winning the game against Gujarat on Wednesday.

Shubman Gill was out for 8 when Ishant Sharma had the young batter caught by Prithvi Shaw in the cover region. The next wicket was the one that changed the course of the game. David Miller closed the face of his bat only to get a huge nick and was well caught by Rishabh Pant to give Ishant his 2nd wicket.

3. Mukesh Kumar -3/14 from 2.3 overs

After a few weeks of inconsistency with the ball, Mukesh Kumar seems to have finally found his groove. The 30-year-old bowled with a tight line and length and didn’t let the Titans batters chance their arm.

Mukesh Kumar first got the wicket of Wriddhiman Saha who saw his stumps disturbed for 2. Coming back into attack in the 18th over, Mukesh Kumar first dismissed Rashid Khan for 31 before ending the innings with the wicket of Noor Ahmed for 1.

2. Jake Fraser McGurk – 20 runs off 10 balls

It was Delhi Capitals all the way with the bat and ball against a hapless Gujarat Titans side. David Warner didn’t play the game as Jake Fraser McGurk got a chance to open the batting for his side. The dynamic batter responded with 20 runs off just 10 balls with two fours and two sixes to help Delhi get off to a good start.

1. Rishabh Pant – Four dismissals and 16 not out

Ever since his return to the field, Rishabh Pant hasn’t put his foot wrong. On Wednesday the 26-year-old did some amazing work behind the stumps with two stumping chances and two catches. His catch to dismiss David Miller will be regarded as one of the best in IPL 2024. With the bat, Rishabh Pant struck 16 runs from 11 balls with a four and a six to guide his team to an easy win.
