It took Delhi Capitals just 8.5 overs to chase down the 90-run target set by Gujarat Titans. It was a comprehensive win for the visiting side that helped them win their 3rd game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

From the moment Rishabh Pant won the toss everything went the way of the visitors. Gujarat Titans on the other hand will look back at this game with a huge tinge of regret as nothing seemed to work for them.

The next game for the IPL 2022 winners is in Chandigarh against the Punjab Kings team. It is a key game for Shubman Gill’s side as they will look to avenge their close loss the last time the two teams met in Ahmedabad.

Here are the top 5 worst performances from the match:

5. Sandeep Warrier -2/40 from three overs

73

The 32-year-old pacer was making his debut for the Titans and it was a game to forget for the Chennai-based pacer. Sandeep Warrier bowled three overs and gave away 40 runs while picking 2 wickets. Each of the Delhi Capitals batter went after Warrier who bowled with good pace as the ball sped to each part of the ground after each effort ball.

4. Spencer Johnson – 1/22 from two overs

74

It seems that Spencer Johnson hasn’t found his footing with the ball in his debut outing in the IPL. The left-arm pacer has been expensive in each of his games and it wasn’t any different against Delhi Capitals. Jake Fraser McGurk set the tone with his six against Johnson over the point boundary. That shot seemed to demoralize Spencer Johnson who looked to lose his rhythm early in his spell.

3. Prithvi Shaw – 7 runs off six balls

75

IPL 2024 is a key season for Prithvi Shaw and the Mumbai-based batter has so far done well. On Wednesday, the 24-year-old had a chance to score some easy runs on offer during a small chase for his side. Sandeep Warrier though had other ideas as he bounced out Shaw whose catch was taken by Spencer Johnson to end his stint at the wicket.

2. Shubman Gill – 8 runs off six balls

77

The entire downfall for the Titans began when Shubman Gill was out early for just 8 runs. The 24-year-old stepped down the track to hit Ishant Sharma for a boundary. Gill only managed to give Shaw an easy catch to end his short innings. This was a huge error from the Titans skipper who would have wanted to be there for his team and get a huge score.

1. Wriddhiman Saha – 2 runs from 10 balls

76

The decision to include veteran Wriddhiman Saha raised a lot of eyebrows. The 39-year-old who has had a bad season so far with the bat, continued to struggle to score runs. Mukesh Kumar finally ended Saha’s misery when he uprooted his stumps for just two runs. If the Titans have to make it to the top four the team management has to rethink about Saha being in the playing XI.
