In what registered as an unprecedented day in the entire 21-year-long history of the Cricket’s T20 format, Punjab Kings registered the highest successful run-chase to their name after beating KKR by 8 wickets in the 42nd game of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The visiting skipper Sam Curran won the toss and asked the hosts to bat first; batting first, KKR posted one of the highest team totals in the history of IPL Shreyas Iyer’s men scored 261 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Openers Phil Salt and Sunil Narine played the blistering knocks of 75 and 71 runs, off just 37 and 32 balls, respectively. Later, Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer also scored 39 and 28 runs, respectively, alongside Andre Russell’s 24 runs off just 12 balls, with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Arshdeep Singh bagged 2 wickets for PBKS in the first innings, alongside one wicket each picked by Sam Curran, Harshal Patel, and Rahul Chahar.
