Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were down and out as the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) gave them a sound thrashing by 8 wickets. The home team won the game win six balls to spare to win their 4th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 tournament.
Apart from Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni none of the other players stood up to the occasion. Moeen Ali too did his best with the bat but the bowling performances were not up to the mark as the LSG team coasted home to an easy win.
Here are the top 5 worst performances from the match:
5. Yash Thakur -1/45 from four overs
Fast bowler Yash Thakur had a day to forget with the ball as he was smashed for 45 runs from his 4 overs. The youngster was taken to the cleaners by MS Dhoni in the final over of the innings. His only wicket of the game was Ruturaj Gaikwad who edged behind to KL Rahul for an easy catch.
4. Ravi Bishnoi – 1/44 from four overs
IPL 2024 hasn’t been an easy campaign for the young leg-spinner. Ravi Bishnoi saw his figures get tarnished due to the big hitting skills of Moeen Ali who smacked Bishnoi for three successive sixes. The veteran England star was Bishnoi’s only wicket when he was caught by Ayush Badoni while going for his 4th six.
3. Shivam Dube – 3 runs from 8 balls
Considering the form that he has been in recent times, much better and much more was expected from Shivam Dube. The 30-year-old left-handed batter who scored an unbeaten fifty against MI failed to get going with the bat. Marcus Stoinis ended the miserable stint at the wicket for Shivam Dube when KL Rahul settled under an easy catch.

2. Mustafizur Rahman – 1/43 from 4 overs
It was a dismal day with the ball for the Bangladeshi seamer who was hit to all parts of the ground by the LSG batters. It was a bad day in the office for the leading bowler from Chennai as he only had the wicket of Quinton De Kock to show for.
1. Tushar Deshpande – 0/42 from four overs
Chennai Super Kings pacer Tushar Deshpande saw his struggles continue with yet another shambolic show with the ball. The right-arm pacer went for 42 runs from his four wicketless overs and also conceded 42 runs which included a no-ball towards the end of the game.
