Sunrisers Hyderabad continued their red-hot form with the bat as they scored the highest-ever team total in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pat Cummins and his side beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 25 runs to go fourth in the table.

Earlier in the day it was RCB who won the toss and chose to bowl first and went in without Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj. The move seemed to have backfired as the Hyderabad batters made merry.

Chasing 288 to win, Faf Du Plessis and Dinesh Karthik yet again scored half-centuries to lead a strong fight-back. Those efforts were just not enough as the Hyderabadi bowlers kept their cool to eke out their 4th win of the campaign.

Here are the top 5 performances from the RCB vs SRH, Match number 30 of IPL 2024

5. Pat Cummins – 3/43 from four overs

Australian and SRH skipper bowled his heart out and grabbed three key wickets to help his side win the game. The first wicket was that of Du Plessis caught by Klaasen for 62, and the very next ball he had Saurav Chauhan out LBW for a first-ball duck. The third wicket was Mahipal Lomror just when RCB were looking to make a strong comeback.

4. Faf Du Plessis – 62 runs off 28 balls

Just like the last game against Mumbai Indians, the RCB skipper decided to take the bull by its horns. The 39-year-old took the attack to the SRH bowlers to score his second fifty in as many games with 7 fours and 4 sixes in his knock. Just when it seemed he was set for a big score the RCB skipper fell to his opposite number Pat Cummins.

3. Heinrich Klaasen – 67 runs off 31 balls

Just when the fans felt that Heinrich Klaasen was losing his touch with the bat, the South African silenced the doubters. The right-handed batter scored runs at a furious rate as he scored his fifty in just 23 balls. Klaasen also hit the 500th six of IPL 2024 which has just completed its 30th game.

2. Dinesh Karthik – 83 runs off 35 balls

Veteran wicketkeeper and batter Dinesh Karthik has been one of the few bright sparks for RCB in an otherwise miserable campaign. The 38-year-old scored his second successive half-century to end up with 83 runs from 35 balls. The innings included 5 five fours and 7 sixes including a 108-meter six which was the longest of the season.

1. Travis Head – 102 off 41 balls

Former RCB batter Travis Head tormented his old teammates with a blistering ton that laid the foundation for a huge score. The left-handed batter scored his century off just 39 balls before falling for 102 runs. Head’s knock contained 9 fours and 8 massive sixes as he left the RCB fans stunned.
