Sunrisers Hyderabad came out all guns blazing as they defeated the Lucknow Super Giants by 10 wickets. This was the 7th win of the Indian Premier League 2024 season for Pat Cummins and his team. It was a great birthday present for the SRH skipper as Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma destroyed the Lucknow Super Giants bowling.

Ayush Badoni scored 55 not out and Nicholas Pooran gave him good support to help Lucknow Super Giants reach 165 on the board. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma though managed to score 107 runs from the first six overs and made sure there was an early finish to the game thanks to the amount of boundaries being hit.

Here are the top 5 stand-out performances from the match

5. Nicholas Pooran – 48* from 26 balls

312

At one stage in the innings, Lucknow Super Giants were struggling to put runs on the board. That’s when Nicholas Pooran came out to bat and gave LSG the much needed impetus to end the innings on a high. The West Indian star hit 48 not out from just 26 balls with 6 fours and a six. His innings also saw him add an important 99-run stand for the 5th wicket with Ayush Badoni.

4. Ayush Badoni – 55* from 30 balls

313

Young Ayush Badoni is turning out to be a crisis man for the Lucknow team. The young right-handed batter scored his 3rd IPL fifty and made sure that Lucknow went past the 150 run mark which was looking difficult at one stage. SRH bowlers were hit all across the park as Badoni used the crease well to hit boundaries at regular intervals.

3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 2/12 from 4 overs

315

With each and every game, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has started to show why he is still one of the best Indian bowler in the league. The 34-year-old bowled with miserly figures of 12 runs from 4 overs. His first wicket of the day was Quinton De Kock for 2 and then followed it up with the wicket of Marcus Stoinis for 3.

2. Abhishek Sharma – 75* from 28 balls

316

IPL 2024 season has already become the best campaign for Abhishek Sharma. The 23-year-old batter led the charge with the bat as he smashed Yash Thakur to all parts of the stadium. His intensity didn’t drop despite Travis Head going great guns at the other end. Fittingly it was Abhishek Sharma who hit the winning runs as he smashed a six to give SRH a ten-wicket win.

1. Travis Head – 89* off 30 balls

318

For a man who has changed the approach of batting in the IPL, Travis Head isn’t showing signs of slowing down. The Australian batter scored 89 not out from just 30 balls at a strike rate of nearly 300. His knock contained 8 fours and eight sixes and also got to 500 IPL runs this season. By the time the game ended, Travis Head was just 9 runs behind Virat Kohli and is currently third in the leading run-scorers for the season.
