Delhi Capitals are set to lock horns with the table toppers in the 12th match of their ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 campaign. DC ought to win all of their remaining three matches to keep themselves alive in contention for the playoff stage of the tournament. they are currently in the 6th spot of the points table of the tournament, with 5 wins and 6 defeats in the tournament.

The performance of Rishabh Pant’s men has been quite inconsistent in the tournament with a roller-coaster of wins and losses in their 11 matches so far.

Meanwhile, the DC head coach Ricky Ponting also spoke about the chances of DC’s qualification in the playoffs of the tournament. He also marked out where the DC underperformed against a few teams.

“We didn’t play our best against Kolkata, but we’re back in Delhi now. Here, we’ve won two of our last three games,” said Ricky Ponting before the game against Rajasthan Royals in Delhi.

“Although we are up against a solid Rajasthan team, if we play at our best for 40 overs, we can be forced to reckon with. We’re confident that we can defeat anyone regardless of the opposition and the ground,” he added later.

Furthermore, he also spoke about the importance of the next three matches for the Delhi Capitals in their remaining IPL 2024 campaign.

“We are monitoring everything. We now find ourselves in a situation where winning our next three games will probably be necessary to qualify. Despite our poor start, we are particularly proud of the boys during the last six to seven games,” he said.

Following the game against RR today in Delhi, DC will take on RCB in Bengaluru followed by their last league match against LSG at their home ground, Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The game against RR today is going to be a do-or-die clash for DC.
