Preview

Faf Du Plessis and his side travel to Kolkata with their hopes of qualification hanging in the balance. One more loss will mean that RCB will have to ensure they don’t encounter any more slip-ups. Kolkata Knight Riders on the other hand will be looking to make a strong comeback after their reversal against Rajasthan Royals.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were outplayed in the last game thanks to a brilliant innings from Jos Buttler. Sunil Narine’s first-ever T20 century was one of the biggest talking points as the Knight Riders look to keep pace with RR at the top of the table. The last time the two teams met in IPL 2024, KKR had won the game thanks to Phil Salt and Sunil Narine’s brutal assault.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) gave away 287 runs in the last game that they played. It has been a difficult season so far for RCB with just Virat Kohli delivering with the bat. The bowling remains a huge concern and against a strong KKR unit, the Bengaluru bowlers will be tested once again.

Top players for KKR vs RCB Dream 11 Match

Top Players – Kolkata Knight Riders

Sunil Narine – The West Indian has found a new verve this year as a batter. Sunil Narine has been able to take the attack to the opposition in the first six overs and RCB will very well know this. In the previous game, Sunil Narine was instrumental in helping KKR achieve a huge win against RCB with his brutal batting.

Andre Russell – Kolkata Knight Riders have finally the old Andre Russell come back to form. The Jamaican has been the key player in the middle-order with his brutal hitting. Andre Russell has also chipped in with the ball and is a livewire in the field.

Top Players – Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Virat Kohli – With 361 runs from 7 games, the former RCB skipper has taken the tournament by storm. Virat Kohli has been the only threat with the bat by the RCB team this year. KKR bowlers will be wary of the danger that Virat Kohli carries and will want to dismiss him early to deal a massive blow to the RCB team.

Dinesh Kartik – Veteran wicketkeeper and batter Dinesh Karthik is very well versed with the Eden Gardens and most of the players. The 38-year-old was the captain of the side for a few years and knows what needs to be done to win at the Eden Gardens. Dinesh Karthik has been a terrific performer this year with the bat and scored an astonishing 83 in the last game for RCB against the SRH side.

KKR vs SRH Must Picks for Dream 11 Cricket

Phil Salt – This year Kolkata Knight Riders have seen their openers get off to a flying start on most occasions. RCB in particular will remember the Phil Salt innings that helped KKR get off to a blistering start in their previous encounter.

Faf Du Plessis – After a slow start to the tournament, Faf Du Plessis has finally found his form. Two half-centuries in two games from the veteran South African holds him in good stead for the next few games

KKR vs RCB Risky Captaincy Choices

Rajat Patidar – 30-year-old Rajat Patidar seems to be finally finding his groove with the bat. The right-handed batter will have fond memories of this venue as he scored his only IPL ton during the IPL 2022 season. RCB will need Patidar to come good and show his real talents with the bat.

Rinku Singh – Apart from his cameo in the previous, IPL 2024 hasn’t seen much of Rinku Singh. The 26-year-old will be itching for a long time in the middle with the Indian team selection around the corner.

Players you should avoid

Venkatesh Iyer – Barring one half-century, Venkatesh Iyer hasn’t done much of note during this season of the IPL. The 29-year-old has scored just 16 runs from the last three innings ever since his half-century against RCB earlier in the season.

Mohammed Siraj – Four wickets from six matches isn’t the kind of return that is expected out of a seasoned campaigner like Mohammed Siraj. The 30-year-old didn’t feature in the game against SRH but considering the paucity of talent in RCB’s bowling, Siraj will be given a look-in for the game.
