The hosts KKR had a lot of expectations from their star in-form opener Phil Salt who produced some good performances. But he failed to live up to the ‘KKR hopes’ and could score only 10 runs off 13 balls, with only 1 four on his name.

Phil Salt’s sluggish knock also forced a slow start for the KKR as they could score only 21 runs in 3.3 overs before Salt was sent back pavilion by RR pacer Avesh Khan in a brilliant caught and bowled effort.

The ‘captain of the ship’ for KKR, Shreyas Iyer couldn’t hold up there in the middle after a good start, he got a good start with a four and a six. However, he failed to capitalize on this start and was trapped by the star RR spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.

Iyer went back to the dugout just at the individual score of 11 runs off 7 balls, with a four and a six. When he got dismissed, it was KKR’s third wicket at the score of 133 runs in 13 overs.

3. Ravichandran Ashwin – 0/49 in 4 overs, 0 wickets

The veteran RR off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin couldn’t deliver up to his stature in this clash against KKR. He went on to bowl all the 4 overs of his overs, but he was subjected to the brutal hitting by the KKR batters. Ashwin failed to scalp even a single wicket in his entire spell.

The RR skipper Sanju Samson was expected to bring a crucial knock for his side while chasing the big target of 224 runs in 20 overs. However, he failed to get going after hitting 2 fours in the beginning. He came to bat at number 3 for RR after they lost Jaiswal on the 5th ball of the second over.

The Aussie veteran couldn’t scalp any wicket and conceded 50 runs in his quota of 4 overs, with a very expensive and poor economy rate of 12.50.
