The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team is doing quite well under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The team is excelling in all three departments and is expecting to win their next match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Skipper Gaikwad is doing exceptionally well as an opener for CSK increasing his chances of being selected in the T20 World Cup squad. Moreover, commentator Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel named Gaiwad his first choice for the upcoming World Cup.
"My No. 1 player in focus is Ruturaj Gaikwad. The first reason for that is the last match's form. Secondly, this is a big ground. On a big ground, you expect more from a batter who times the ball and puts it into the gaps, chips the ball into the empty big pockets over cover and mid-wicket," said Chopra.
So far, Gaikwad has scored 224 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 130.23. He's one of the reliable batters of CSK who can convert his innings really well. He's well acquainted with giving great starts to the team which helps them get through the powerplays. Moreover, he is hoping to get the trophy for the team and MS Dhoni as it might be his last IPL.

His match-winning performance gave the entire team unmatchable confidence which they will definitely carry forward in the upcoming matches.
"Our Malinga bowled really well today, he nailed those yorkers. Not to forget, Tushar and Shardul also did well. (On plans ahead) I think we need to keep it simple, encourage all to be in a good headspace and continue the same way," said Ruturaj Gaikwad at the post-match presentation.
