The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is just a year away and Pakistan are looking forward to hosting the prestigious tournament. As per reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) proposed three venues which can host the tournament. This was done after the ICC sent a team to conduct recces. The three venues are Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi which are included in the proposal. Pakistan is preparing enough for the tournament and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi talked about it during a press conference in Lahore.

"We've sent the schedule for the matches in Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy. The ICC's security team came and we had a very good meeting. They looked at arrangements here and we'll also share stadium upgrade plans with them. We're continuously in touch with the ICC. We are trying to ensure we host a very good tournament in Pakistan," said PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi at a press conference.

The Champions Trophy was last held in 2017 where Pakistan lifted the trophy after defeating India in the finals. Post that, the tournament wasn't supposed to be played but the ICC brought it back in 2022 for the 2023-27 cycle with Pakistan being awarded the hosting rights for the 2025 edition.

Will India travel to Pakistan to play in Champions Trophy 2025?

The entire world is well aware of the history of India and Pakistan. Starting from politics to cricket, the countries are arch-rivals and hardly visit each other's countries for any tournament. The BCCI has always refrained from sending the Indian Cricket Team to Pakistan. The same thing happened in 2023 when Pakistan hosted the Asia Cup and India refused to play the tournament because of the venue. Later, the matter was sorted by making Sri Lanka the other host.

This time too the BCCI is not willing to send the Indian team to the neighbouring country to play the tournament. As per reports, India might drop out of the Champions Trophy if the venue remains the same. Nevertheless, nothing has been made official yet and we'll just have to wait for BCCI's confirmation.
