RCB finally cracked the typical ‘SRH’ code in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024. The red and gold outfits defeated Pat Cummins’ in-form SRH by a margin of runs to register their second win in their 8th match in the current season. Both teams played this match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

The visiting skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bat first; batting first, former RCB skipper and the batting stalwart, Virat Kohli scored 51 runs off 43 balls, with 4 fours and a six. Besides him, the star middle-order batter Rajat Patidar smashed a blistering knock of 50 runs off just 20 balls, with 2 fours and 5 sixes.

These two knocks were later followed by the star all-rounder Cameroon Green’s 37 runs off just 20 balls, with 5 fours. These stunning individual performances helped RCB post a total of 206 runs for losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

RCB bowlers cracked the code of the mighty ‘SRH batting attack:

The veteran SRH pacer Jaydev Unadkat scalped 3 wickets at the cost of just 30 runs in his quota of 4 overs, alongside 2 wickets picked by impact player T Natarajan in his quota of 4 overs. Besides these two, skipper Pat Cummins and spinner Mayank Markande also claimed one wicket each for SRH in the first innings.

While chasing the target, it was only the opener Abhishek Sharma and lower-order batter Shahbaz Ahmed who played knocks of 31 and unbeaten 40 runs, respectively. Sharma scored 31 runs off just 13 balls, with 3 fours and 2 sixes followed by Shahabaz’s 40 runs off 37 balls, with a six and a four. Besides these two, skipper Pat Cummins also scored 31 runs off just 15 balls, with a four.

However, these knocks couldn’t help SRH and they could score only 171 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the entire 20 overs. Eventually, RCB won by 35 runs and registered their second victory in the 9th match in their ongoing IPL 2024 campaign.

Swapnil Singh, Karn Sharma, and Cameron Green scalped two wickets each for RCB, alongside 1 wicket each bagged by Will Jacks and Yash Dayal.

Rajat Patidar won the 'Player of the Match award for his match-winning and explosive knock in RCB's favour.
