Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally broke their winless run with a much-needed triumph versus Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday in the 41st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The win also meant that Faf Du Plessis and his side have won their second game of the season.

It was RCB who batted first and scored an imposing 206 runs on the board thanks to the fifties by Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar. Chasing 207 to win the SRH team were in trouble as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. At the end of the Bengaluru posted a comfortable win to take their 2nd win of the season.

Here are the top 5 standout performances from the match:

5. Jaydev Unadkat – 3/30 from four overs

The veteran left-arm pacer who is playing in his 100th IPL game was instrumental in getting SRH back into the game. Rajat Patidar batting well on 50 was his first wicket and then he followed it up by getting the huge wicket of Virat Kohli for 51. His third wicket of the day was Mahipal Lomror to cap off a brilliant day with the ball.

4. Karn Sharma – 2/29 from four overs

174

Playing against his former team Karn Sharma returned to torment the Hyderabad faithful with his incisive bowling. The 36-year-old began by dismissing Nitish Reddy, who bowled for 13 before taking an easy return catch to get rid of Abdul Samad for 10.

3. Cameron Green – 37* off 20 balls and 2/12 from two overs

175

The Australian star who had scored his maiden IPL century last year against SRH came back to haunt the men in orange. Cameron Green scored 37 not out with 5 fours in his 20-ball knock. This was followed by the two wickets of Pat Cummins and Bhuvneshwar Kumar to show his real potential as an all-rounder.

2. Rajat Patidar- 50 runs from 20 balls

175

It has been a welcome return to form for Rajat Patidar who is finally batting well. The right-handed batter from Madhya Pradesh was severe against Mayank Markande in particular as he hit the leg spinner for four successive sixes to reach his IPL fifty. This was the second consecutive fifty after his knock against KKR in the last match.

1. Virat Kohli – 51 runs from 43 balls

176

For the fourth occasion in as many games, Virat Kohli had scored a fifty in Hyderabad. The 35-year-old began by smashing boundaries at will before putting his head when his team was in trouble. With this knock, Virat Kohli got to yet another IPL fifty and gave his team a good chance to win the game.
