T20 World Cup 2024: KL Rahul likely to be second WK in India squad, Hardik Pandya's selection still doubtful - Reports

The debates and discussions around the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 are getting intense as the tournament is nearing. A lot of former cricketers and experts are picking up their picks for India's squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. Meanwhile, the media reports have suggested some major updates about the men in Blue’s squad for the prestigious cricket biennial.

A report in PTI understands that the veteran wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul is expected to be picked as the second wicketkeeping choice. He might be preferred over the Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson.

On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah is likely to lead the Indian bowling attack, which could include Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav. There is also a tough battle for one spot where the three contestants, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, and Axar Patel are in contention to make it to the Indian squad for the marquee international tournament.

Hardik Pandya's selection still 'doubtful'

However, the confirmation on the selection of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is still ‘sceptical’ and ‘doubtful’ as there is no authentic report suggesting his inclusion in the Indian squad for the T20 WC 2024. Pandya is also struggling with a poor run of form both with the bat and the ball in the ongoing IPL 2024 while leading the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians.

Meanwhile, the former Indian World T20 Champion off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh also picked his 15 members to represent India in the ICC tournament.

Harbhajan Singh shockingly omitted the star all-rounder from his ‘picked’ India squad for the World Cup. He also included the star CSK all-rounder Shivam Dube and young LSG pace bowling sensation, Mayank Yadav in the squad.
