WATCH: Abhishek Sharma's hilarious mistake sends parents off to Amritsar, missing IPL 2024 action

The current best batter of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has been winning hearts since the first match of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. His perfect batting and attacking skills have led to SRH's high scores in most of the games. Playing alongside Travis Head, both the openers made a 167-run partnership against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the previous match and it by 10 wickets. They chased down the target within 10 overs which became a record. 

After the match, Abhishek was seen talking to his parents over a call. Moreover, while talking to the commentators post the match, he revealed how he booked the wrong flight for his parents.

"I was talking to my parents. They wanted to come to Hyderabad and watch the match but I booked the flight tickets to Amritsar by mistake." said Abhishek Sharma. 

So far, Abhishek Sharma has scored 401 runs from 11 matches at a strike rate of 205.64 and Travis Head has played 11 matches and scored 533 runs at a strike rate of 201.89. Both the batters have provided some excellent start to the innings and have proved to be the most dangerous opening pair of the IPL 2024.

After a brilliant performance of 89 runs off 30 balls, SRH opener Travis Head received the Player of the Match award. During the presentation, he talked about his co-partner Abhishek Sharma who has evolved a lot in recent years. Moreover, Head complimented him for the kind of mindset he has when he walks into bat. 

"I know how hard he works and how deep he thinks, his spin play is second to none. We compliment each other very well. Nice to see him back amongst the runs after missing out the last couple of game," said Travis Head at the post-match presentation.
