The 47th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is being played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday, April 29. DC skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bat first.

Opener Prithvi Shaw provided an electric start to the team by smashing Mitchell Starc for 3 boundaries in the very 1st over. However, he couldn’t keep the momentum continue and was dismissed after scoring 13 runs. Australian young gun Jake Fraser-McGurk who has been thrashing the bowlers in the ongoing season, couldn’t do much and went back to pavilion on just 12 runs.

DC continued to lose wickets, however, they got a major setback when the well-settled Abhishek Porel fell prey to Harshit Rana in the 7th over. The left-handed youngster tried to play a scoop shot to Harshit but was beaten by the extra pace and later found his stumps shattered.

However, what caught the fans’ attention was Harshit’s celebration as the speedster found himself in the spotlight. Harshit tried to recreate his controversial celebration gesture which he did against Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Mayank Agarwal. Harshit blew a flying kiss to Agarwal during a match in the ongoing season after dismissing him. However, later, BCCI fined him 60% of his match fee.

But this time, he halted midway, perhaps he went down the memory lane of the repercussions he faced due to his actions. Fans were quick to notice the incident and didn’t waste any time sharing their thoughts on social media. There were a few fans who were trolling him while there were also some fans who were being sarcastic and made the incident light by sharing some memes.

Talking about both the teams, KKR have won 5 out 8 matches in the tournament and are sitting in the 2nd position while DC have also won 5 matches but have also lost as many matches and are sitting in the 5th spot in the points table. It’d be interesting to see who will qualify for the playoffs.
