In what seems to be a big achievement, the star RR leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal became the first bowler to claim 200 wickets in the 16-year-long history of the tournament since its inception in the year 2008. Chahal achieved this feat just after dismissing the MI all-rounder Mohammad Nabi in the ongoing game between RR and MI in Jaipur.

The video of Chahal’s special celebration after scalping his 200th IPL wicket was also shared on the official X handle (formerly Twitter) of the Indian Premier League. The video also started making rounds on social media as it was shared by other users as well on X.

Speaking of Chahal’s illustrious IPL career, he has now 200 wickets and 152 innings of the 153 matches he has played so far. He has played with three franchises MI, RCB and RR in his IPL career so far, including 6 four-wicket hauls and 1 five-wicket haul, with a best performance of 5/40. He has also bowled 4 maiden overs, including an economy rate of 7.70 and a strike rate of 16.70.

He is followed by the ‘retired’ Dwayne Bravo, who is in the second spot with 183 wickets in 158 innings in the 161 matches, with 2 four-wicket hauls, having a best performance of 4/22 and an economy rate of 8.38 and strike rate of 17.04.

Speaking of the current action of the ongoing RR vs MI match at SMS, Jaipur; the visiting skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bat first; they posted a total of 179 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

The senior RR pacer Sandeep Sharma claimed a brilliant five-wicket haul, with 3 wickets in the 20th over of the MI innings. Sandeep scalped 5 wickets at the cost of just 18 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
