Yuvraj Singh joins Chris Gayle, Usain Bolt as brand ambassadors for ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024

In a recent piece of news, ICC has named the former legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh as the brand ambassador of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which is set to be played in the USA and West Indies. Earlier, the legendary Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt was also named as the brand ambassador of the tournament.

ICC made this announcement in an official press release. Yuvraj is famously known in the T20 World Cup history for his iconic 6 sixes in an over in the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2007.

Yuvraj Singh also spoke about it after getting named as the brand ambassador of the prestigious cricket biennial.

Here's what Yuvraj Singh said:

“Some of my fondest cricketing memories have come from playing at the T20 World Cup, including hitting six sixes in an over, so it’s very exciting to be part of this edition, which is set to be the biggest one yet,” Yuvraj was quoted as saying in the official press release of ICC.

“The West Indies is a great place to play cricket with the fans coming to watch creating a vibe that is completely unique to that part of the world, while cricket is also expanding in the USA and I’m excited to be part of that growth through the T20 World Cup,” he added later.

Furthermore, he also spoke about the India vs Pakistan clash which is set to be played in New York at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

“India’s clash against Pakistan in New York is going to be one of the biggest sporting fixtures in the world this year, so it’s a privilege to be a part of and to witness the best players in the world playing in a new stadium,” he said.

Notably, India will start their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign with the first match against Ireland on June 5 in New York.
