Basketball pro Luka Doncic is among top 500 Overwatch players

Professional athletes are all about staying at the top of their game, however, NBA superstar for the Dallas Mavericks, Luka Doncic has also proved that he excels not only in physical sports but also in esports.

With his recent Instagram status post, Doncic humbled many who complain about how hard it is to master multiple things. The 25-year-old professional basketball player is now among the top 500 players in Overwatch 2 and his choice of character is Tank, more specifically, Zarya.

Doncic is a big Overwatch fan and is often seen in random high-level game lobbies. Looking at his post, his setup seems like he is playing on a laptop. Furthermore, his rank suggests he is good enough to reach the top 500 in his role, as the game only has one tank and no one else can compensate.

Streamer was shocked after watching Doncic in the same team

He recently landed in popular Overwatch streamer m0xy’s grandmaster lobby and was having a chat with his teammates, shocked to see him there. Naturally, the reaction of other players in the lobby was disbelief, as one does not see professional athletes randomly in a grandmaster's lobby.

The conversation started as any regular one, with the streamer asking him about his hobbies to which Doncic replies, "Yeah, I play basketball”, which wasn’t much of a surprise until he named his team after he was asked he plays casually or in a team.

Further verifying who he was, his teammates started asking him questions until they were satisfied. M0xy confirm the details, saying, “Well, he actually knows. I Googled that, you’re actually right”. To which Doncic replies, “I know, I’m him” which could also be the reference to the current popular quote among youth, “He’s him”.

There are also a few other popular celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Henry Cavill and Max Verstappen who are quite fond of video games, However, landing with them in a multiplayer game lobby is an achievement in itself.
