Blast expanding its tournament roster

Blast is already known for organizing some of the best quality events for top esports titles like Counter-Strike, Fortnite (FNCS), Rocket League (RLCS), and Rainbow Six Siege. With their success in all these games, the organizer seems to be expanding its portfolio.

Since the Dota 2 pro circuit was removed, multiple other third-party organizers have taken it upon themselves to run large-scale Dota 2 tournaments. Removing the Dota 2 pro circuit also gave the organizers the freedom to run multiple tournaments. Organizers like PGL, ESL, BetBoom and now Blast have taken over and announced multiple tournaments throughout the year.

VP of Ecosystems at Valve & Riot Games, Andrew Haworth said, “As we’ve grown as a business and expanded into further titles, Dota has always been on our wish list. With the recent changes to the Dota ecosystem, we feel it’s the perfect opportunity for BLAST to come in, provide the community with the next level of tournaments and become the new home of Dota 2.”

Having these many tournaments, the players jump from one action to another, which gives a great change of pace for both the players and the viewers. This will also allow teams to take breaks as per their desire without the fear of missing out much.
