Group stages for ESL One Birmingham 2024 Dota 2 conclude with eight teams making their way into the Playoffs which are set to start from April 25 with the upper bracket matchups. The tournament itself is set to feature a massive prize pool of $1 million.

Format

The Playoff will be played in a double-elimination bracket. Qualified teams include four teams from each group, where the top two teams in each are set to compete in the upper bracket, while the teams in 3rd and 4th spots move to lower brackets.

All matches apart from the grand finals will be best of three. The tournament is also very high stakes, not just because of the massive prize, but also the huge chunk of ESL Pro Tour (EPT) points that will allow teams to climb the leaderboard.

Here are the opening matchups for Playoff upper and lower brackets -

  • Upper Bracket Semifinals (April 25)

Team Falcons Vs Tundra Esports

OG Vs BetBoom Team

  • Lower Bracket Round 1 (April 26)

Team Liquid Vs HEROIC

Xtreme Gaming Vs G2 x iG

Group A saw Team Falcons and BetBoom Team dominating, while Group B had OG and Tundra Esports on a roll. Team Falcons is also one of the top teams on the EPT leaderboard, while their Counter-Strike counterpart is surprisingly struggling even after a very good roster. BetBoom is also one of the toughest competitors in this series.

OG who was the replacement for 1Win have also capitalized on their chance to manage to put up a great show. Tundra Esports is also one of the best teams in Dota 2 but will have to work hard against these behemoths.

Apart from being in the upper bracket at Playoffs, all these teams have to do is try to win two matches that will lead them into the grand finals. On the other hand, teams starting in lower brackets will have tried and win four games in a row.
