Fnatic shuts down Virtus.pro at ESL Pro League Season 19

Group stage matches for the ESL Pro League (EPL) Season 19 commenced yesterday and Fnatic has already knocked Virtus.pro to the lower bracket in a shocking turn of events. Virtus.pro recently added electroNic after benching Mir for more firepower.

Despite having a better roster than Fnatic on paper, Virtus.pro struggled to maintain their performance. 'electroNic', who was supposed to be a star addition also struggled on his first match with Virtus.pro. That isn’t to say the team did not try their best.

The matches were quite close, with Virtus.pro securing their map pick on Overpass. However, the team lost the following map, sending them to the decider. The third map was once again too close to comfort for any team but no one expected Fantic to take the win and move forward.

electroNic’s performance on the final map was a bit decent and fans wonder if this was the case for the first two maps the results might have been different. Nevertheless, the team still kicking and will now face SAW in the lower brackets. Fnatic on the other hand will face 3DMAX.

Faze and Astralis to meet again

Following the Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu semifinals, Faze Clan and Astralis will now face each other once again. Both teams defeated their opponents in the opening match in a dominating fashion. However, their opponents were much weaker compared to them.

Faze faced Imperial Esports and stomped through, while Astralis went against Eternal Fire, who have a very decent roster but haven’t managed to achieve that level of success yet.

It remains to be seen which team will move forward for the time being, especially when the IGL for Astralis Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz have promised not to punch any more monitors in frustration after his game recently crashed during the tournament. The match is set to take place on April 24.
