Histera gameplay (Source - Histera)
Histera is an upcoming online PvP arena shooter with a twist. On the surface, it works like any other arena shooter, however, the arena itself glitches and changes to different eras in time which has attracted the attention of many players.
The latest trailer for the game showcases fast-paced combat like Call of Duty, Apex Legends and Overwatch with a multitude of weapons across different arenas that will be changing with time through ‘The Glitch’. The name for the game ‘Histera’ also sounds similar to Hysteria which is quite a coincidence considering the gameplay mechanics.

An important thing to note is that different arenas will bring different weapons of that era. The prehistoric theme will have spears and bows while the world war setting will have early weapons. The same goes for the futuristic arena. Players can mix and match weapons from different areas.
Esports potential of Histera
It is currently not possible to know how well the game will do and if it will become a proper esports title in the future. The early access will only have two game modes and three map variations. The game garnered a lot of positive feedback from the players during the Steam Next Fest. If it takes off, the developers will likely need to keep up with the fresh content to make the game successful.
The game is set to enter early access on May 16 and will be free to play on Steam. There is currently no news regarding the game on another platform of digital stores. Since it will be free to play, the game will have other monetization options for character customization like microtransactions and Battle Pass.
“All customizations are fully cosmetic and will not have any effects on the gameplay. For everyone joining the game’s Early Access, there will be an exclusive skin available for free in the first two weeks! After the initial launch, a Battle Pass will be introduced that will offer players more customization options for their weapons and characters,” the devs at StickyLock said.
