PUBG: Battlegrounds’ initial release was one of the best in terms of history, and have inspired multiple other games in the same genre. Now, the developers are set to bring back the OG Erangel Classic for those who missed out to experience the map in the first place. It also aims to hit the current long-term players with nostalgia for the early days of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
The map isn’t coming back permanently, but as a part of an event and will remain available for two weeks alongside update 29.2. The decision feels similar to Epic’s decision to bring back the OG Fortnite that pulled in many players.
We are going home.

“We hope this offers the chance not only to revisit the iconic world but also to recall the cherished moments shared with friends and comrades in days gone by,” Krafton said. Release date for the OG update is however different for PC and consoles. For PC, the event will start on May 14 while the console player would need to wait for May 23.
What is coming back with the OG Erangle?
As per the dev notes, players will be able to jump back into the gloomy Erangle map, featuring dynamic weather effects like fog and rain. The main Erangle will be unavailable for the duration of the event.
Weapon benches will also be back for the event, where players try out weapons before the match. This will allow players to try out the rare weapons, which most likely won’t get their hands on during the match. Alongside that, the HUD and graphics are also tweaked and reverted to the original look.
Not only that, the developers have also tweaked the recoil of all weapons to bring back the feeling of original levels. Old weapons will also be making a return in care packages, and players can once again find outfits lying on the ground. Currently, there is nothing more to say except to be hopeful once again
