The Round of 12 at the ESL Pro League Season 19 Playoffs once again saw multiple underdog teams prove why they reached there, and while they were not able to secure a win, their performance against some of the best will go a long way to boost the team's confidence.

Faze sends Navi Home

After losing against Navi at the PGL Copenhagen Major, Faze has managed to give Navi a taste of their own medicine by defeating them in back-to-back rounds, with the Karrigan securing their win with a quad kill in the final round.

The opening match was one-sided, with Navi failing to get a single round in the second half. The following match once again saw Faze having the upper hand, with Navi managing an overtime. Things were shaping up for another, but Karrigan put the nail in the coffin.

Intense matches by underdog teams

No one expected 3DMAX to come this far, let alone take a map from G2 Esports. The opening match saw 3DMAX make an early lead on G2โ€™s map pick, but G2 managed to defend their map in the second half thanks to m0NESY. On the 3DMAX side, Maka did all the heavy work with his teamโ€™s support.

However, 3DMAX were able to equalize the score in their map pick and did it with style, picking G2 apart one by one. The team displayed a dominating first and second half with the match going into the decider where G2 prevailed by a huge margin.

FlyQuest also did not make it easy for Team Liquid, with Dexter coming in clutch with multiple crucial kills. Liquid eventually secured the map, but not without a fight. The following map saw FlyQuest struggle, but the team managed to bring the game into overtime.

Securing two rounds on both sides during overtime, FlyQuest managed to pull the second map in their favour. The decider also went quite similar, with FlyQuest struggling in the first half and managing to build a streak in the second half before Liquid put a stop to it.

The MongolZ took Virtus.proโ€™s signature map by creating a huge early game lead on the defending side, with VP giving their all in the second half. However, The MongolZ only required four more rounds which they managed at the end moment before VP could claim OT.

VP paid them back in full by crushing them in the second map. The decider, however, was the most interesting, with The MongolZ taking 10 out of 13 needed rounds in the first half and even winning the Pistol in the second half. However, the match took a drastic turn as VP took all consecutive rounds to secure the quarter-finals.
