Arsenal initiate talks with FC Barcelona winger after special request of Mikel Arteta

Arsenal will be up against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League 2nd leg at the Allianz Arena.  The Gunners despite carrying a good form in the Premier League have collapsed in their last game against Aston Villa as they lost 2-0 at home for the first time in the 2024 year. Mikel Arteta has a big challenge ahead on Wednesday as he will be up against the Bavarians at their home, after a 2-2 draw at the Emirates. 

The side is competing for the PL title with only two points behind but they have some tough fixtures ahead. Arteta irrespective of how the season ends, he has already targeted players that the management can sign in the upcoming transfer window in order to add more depth to their squad. They have shortlisted some of the possible players that they might go and sign in the summer transfer window. 

They secured some good deals with players such as Leandro Trossard, Declan Rice, and Jorginho, who formed formidable midfield and attacking units. They will now try to add more firepower to the roster for the 2024-25 season. They have targeted FC Barcelona forward Ferran Torres, as the Spaniard joined the La Liga giants from Manchester City in January 2022 for €55m. The Gunners are in talks to get the service of the winger for the upcoming season, who also can play a 'False 9'. 

Ivan Toney to Arsenal?

As per the reports of football365, they have made a bid worth € 30 million for the Spanish forward at the request of Mikel Arteta. He has been in decent form since joining the La Liga Giants and has scored 25 goals in 107 games for the side. With Barca's financial problems they would like to get off some players and Arsenal might have a chance to sign him. 

There are other names linked as well, with Ivan Toney, Viktor Gyokeres and Douglas Luiz. However, they are in rumours stages with no talks have been initiated. But in case the Torres deals collapse or fail the above options will be surely in mind for the management. The window will be an interesting one for every club.
