Bayern Munich's pursuit of a manager appears to be heading nowhere, as Ralf Rangnick declined the Bavarian team's proposal. The Austrian national team is expected to retain their head coach, according to the update that Christian Falk posted on his personal X account. The former Red Bull personnel and the Bundesliga team are now in negotiations regarding the managerial position, following Xabi Alonso's decision to remain at Bayer Leverkusen.

Terms have been agreed upon for Julen Lopetegui to take over as West Ham manager. Although the 57-year-old former Wolves manager, who is expected to succeed David Moyes, has not yet signed a contract, both sides are pleased with the suggested agreement.

The announcement follows Chelsea's 5-0 thrashing of West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. After starting his second term in East London in December 2019, Moyes has watched his team drop to ninth place in the English Premier League standings. The Scottish manager, who turned down a new contract offer at the end of the previous campaign, has stated that a decision regarding his future would not be made until after the season's last game.

Julen Lopetegui was rumoured to be a candidate for the Bayern Munich position as they look for someone to replace Thomas Tuchel, who is leaving at the end of the current campaign. The Bundesliga's biggest club made an inquiry regarding Lopetegui on Monday, according to The Athletic. He is rumoured to prefer West Ham over the Champions League semi finalists, though.

Who can Bayern Munich target as Thomas Tuchel’s successor now?

With Arne Slot and the Leverkusen manager no longer in the picture, the pool of promising young managers is starting to resemble a melting puddle in a heat wave.

One candidate who might entice Bayern's leadership is Ruben Amorim, the 39-year-old head coach of Sporting Lisbon, who Liverpool decided not to go for as their front-runner. The former Braga manager expanded a two-team division to become a three-team league in Portugal by coaching an attractive type of football.
